Biography of Altynay Khuurak

Altynay Huurak began performing with Tyva Kyzy as a musician in 2011. She was born on October 10, 1975 in Tselinnoye, a small village in the Kyzyl region. After completing her schooling at the School of Fine Arts in Kyzyl, she studied music at the Irkutsk Music College (1994), and later graduated from the East-Siberian State Academy, Faculty of Arts in 2008 (Ulan-Ude, Buryatia).

Aldynai is now a teacher of the Russian music instrument domra at the local Children s Music School in a village Sukpak, of the Kyzyl region of the Republic of Tuva. Altynai plays also at the only one orchestra of the Russian music instruments in Tuva, and leading kid s folk ensemble at the music school. With Tyva Kyzy Ensemble she plays the chadagan, chanzy, igil and percussion instruments, sing traditional songs.

With Ensemble Tyva Kyzy she had been performing with concerts in Norway (2012), in the Netherland (2012), China (2014), in Moscow Conservatory named by Tchaikovsky (2015, 2016), Also had been performing with the project of the World Tour of Tyva Kyzy ensemble in 2018. In the several Universities of South Korea (from 21-27 of May 2018), in Taiwan Traditional music Center on 01 and 02 of June, in Japan (04-14 of June), USA (Hawaii, Washington DC and other states), Netherland, France, Norway.
