Biography of Sholbana Belek-ool

Sholbana Belek-ool has been a singer with the group since 2004. She was born on 26th May 1983 in Ak-Turug village, Chaa-Khol region. She performs three styles of Khoomei: khoomei, sygyt and kargyraa. She has been performing khoomei since 1999. She graduated from the Faculty of Printing, Moscow University, in 2005. She was a participant of the festival “Russian Dawn” (1999), Laureate of the student festival “Festos” (2003, 2004), “Star of Moscow s North” (2004) and Laureate of the International Festival “Sygyt-khoomei in the land of vur” in Khandagaity held as a memorial to National Khoomeizhi Gennadi Tumat in 2004. She perform khoomei, sygyt, plays igil, khomus and also sings traditional folk songs. Sholbana works as an auditor in the Treasury of the Republic of Tuva. With Ensemble Tyva Kyzy she had been performing with concerts in Poland (1999), Japan (2000, 2009), Finland (2001), Switzerland (2002, 2006, 2007), USA (2005, 2007, 2009), Germany (2002, 2006, 2009), France (2008), Spain (2008), Denmark (2006, 2009), Sweden (2009), Norway(2004, 2009, 2012), The Netherland (2006, 2009, 2012), Belgium (2006, 2009), Netherland and Norway (2012), in Moscow Conservatory named by Tchaikovsky (2015, 2016). Also with the project of World Tour of the Tyva Kyzy in 2018: in the several Universities of South Korea (from 21-27 of May 2018), in Taiwan Traditional music Center (31 of May- 04 of June), in Japan (04-14 of June), USA (Hawaii, Washington DC and other states), Netherland, France, Norway.


She had been recorded in the CDs/DVDs with the Ensemble Tyva Kyzy on: Setkilimden sergek yr dyr (CD 2005), Igil Uni Iyem unu (CD 2009), Ugulzalar (CD 2009) and “No comment” with historical videos of the Tyva Kyzy tours around of the world 2000-2009 (DVD, 2010), CD “Ayalgalar” (2018, by Pan-Records company, Netherland).
