Probably Oorzhak Khunashtaar-ool’s dream came true with the appearance of the first khoomei ensemble of female musicians Tyva Kyzy. Thanks to the initiative and activity of its artistic leader Choduraa Tumat, the ensemble quickly became popular, especially among foreigners. The ensemble Tyva Kyzy proved its right to existence thanks to its unusual program and repertoire, which is different from that of male khoomei. Female khoomei is different not only in its textual content but also in its musical accompaniment and in its principle of sound extraction. The soft timbre, the high register of all khoomei styles, the content of lyrical songs, instrumental accompaniment and decoration according to female taste or perception – there are the different features of female khoomei, which form part of Tuvan khoomei
